Kindergarten Round Up – Tuesday, March 22nd
Calling ALL Incoming Kindergarten Students for 2022-23
District 58 has announced the dates and times for this year’s in-person Kindergarten Round-Up events. Whittier will hold ours on Tuesday, March 22, from 6:00-7:00pm. This is an event for parents ONLY, so please leave your children at home. If you have an incoming Kindergarten student, or know someone who has one, please call the Whittier Office and let us know. We will then add you to our Incoming Kindergarten list and be sure that you receive any needed information and updates.

Will your child attend kindergarten in District 58 next fall? Here are three steps to prepare!
1. Call your child’s future school to let them know your child will be attending kindergarten next year. They can add you to any school-specific kindergarten contact lists.
2. Attend Kindergarten Roundup in March or April.
3. Visit our Kindergarten Resource webpage for information on Kindergarten Roundup schedules, school boundary maps, kindergarten registration, immunization requirements, kindergarten curriculum and much more!

Math & Science Night – Thursday, March 24th!
It’s Back!
Math & Science Night at Whittier on Thursday, March 24 from 6:30-7:30
Join us for an hour of math and science fun for everyone…there will be four stations to visit during the hour – use your observation powers, discover your green thumb and more!

Whittier Spirit Wear – Opens April 4th!
The virtual Whittier Spirit Wear store will reopen on Monday, April 4th running through Wednesday, April 13th with anticipated apparel delivery on Monday, May 9th. New Spring/Summer options have been added to the site for purchase alongside the grade-level Field Day shirts. Note that contributions to the Angel Fund will remain open to support families with the purchase of Field Day shirts. Watch for the updated order link in the Whittier Weekly, What’s Up at Whittier email and the PTA Facebook Page.
About the 2021/22 spirit wear vendor: Colorburst is a vocational division of Little Friends, a local non-profit that provides services and support to neurodiverse individuals. Feel good in knowing that 100% of the proceeds from Whittier Spirit sales are funding initiatives, job opportunities and vocational training to improve the lives of children and adults in our community.

COMMITTEE CHAIR OPENINGS
Variety Show Committee Chairs
The Variety Show committee is responsible for the production of the annual Whittier School Variety Show (last presented in 2020) at the Tivoli Theatre. The show typically consists of over 200 students in more than 30 acts. Committee members coordinate school rehearsals and direct all aspects of the technical run, dress rehearsal, and school and final performances.
Target Number of Volunteers: 1-5Estimated Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week from late November through the show in early February Required Availability: Weekdays After School, 1 Weekday During the School Day, and 1 Weekend Morning
Parent Volunteer Opportunity: Summer Math Club
Target Number of Volunteers: 2-5
Estimated Time Commitment: Minimal
Required Availability: Some Weekday Mornings (during the summer only)
Afraid of committing, but want more info!? Well, you’ll fit right in! None of us remember agreeing to this, but are certainly happy to be making a difference. (We kid! We kid!)
