Fun Lunch Volunteers Needed
Yeah, hooray, Fun Lunch is back and we are all thrilled to welcome it’s return. To make the program a success, we rely on the kind volunteers who will serve the children on selected days. If you are willing to come enjoy an hour of delightful chaos with the sweet students at Whittier, then we want YOU!
Responsibilities include setting up for the children, filling individual orders (on tickets) as the kiddos file through, and cleaning up once the last lunch group has been served. Easy-peasy and oh so enjoyable.
Due to space restrictions we are unable to accept walk-in volunteers. Please reserve your slot and then plan to meet at Whittier on the selected date no later than 11:15 AM. Thank you in advance for helping to make this a smashing success!

2nd Grade Brownie Troop Book Drive
The 2nd Grade Brownie Troop understands the power of reading and wishes all children had easy access to books year round. So they are collecting new or gently used books to donate to Bernie’s Book Bank the first week of May (5/2-6). Bernie’s Book Bank provides free quality books to under-served children in the Chicagoland area. Collection tables will be set up outside the Library and the Intermediate Wing. Please consider donating a book or two and help the girls reach their goal of giving 100 books to children in need! If you have any questions, please contact Kirsten Clancy at kirstenclancy@yahoo.com.
YEARBOOK ORDERING
While the discount time period has ended, you can still order a yearbook for this school year. The deadline for personalized pages has passed as well, but you can order a general yearbook. Cllick on the attachment below for more informationtreering-2-4Download
Whittier Open House
Open House for Whittier parents and students will take place on Thursday, April 28. In order to spread out the number of people inside the building, we are asking that families with last names that begins with A-L attend any time between 6:00 and 6:45pm; then families with last names that begin with M-Z attend any time between 6:45 and 7:30pm. There will not be any formal presentations at this event, it is more of an opportunity to drop in and see what our students have been up to this school year. It is a great opportunity for both students and teachers to showcase some of what has happened this school year. We hope you can attend!
