Final Vote on In-Person vs. Remote Board Meeting – TONIGHT
Audience: All District 58 Families
A special Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Herrick Middle School so the administration can discuss this guidance and the impact it may have on District 58 with the members of the Board. At this meeting, the Board will make a final decision on whether school will be in-person or remote to start the school year. In-person attendance at the meeting will be limited due to Phase 4 restrictions. However, the meeting will be live-streamed via the District 58 YouTube Channel. The agenda for the meeting can be found on the District 58 Board Docs website.

Treasurer Wanted!

We are sad to announce that our newly appointed Treasurer will be unable to fulfill her new role due to a change in circumstances. Luckily, Lori Achilles is still available to teach a new Treasurer, and expects this will be an easy year to take over.

Want to stay in touch with the Whittier PTA?
Audience: All Whittier Families and Staff
With school scheduled to start in a few weeks, we have opened up enrollment to give you a chance to cross one item off your “to do list”, by joining the PTA, and here is how:
1) Join the PTA for the 2020-2021 School Year: This is where you can sign up to purchase a paper copy of the directory, advertise in the directory, make an Angel Donation, and/or express interest in getting more involved in the various Whittier committees and events. Link: https://whittierschoolpta.org/join-our-pta-for-next-year/
3) Enter/Update your Directory information: If you already have a Whittier Directory Spot account, that will remain in tact. Please just update your contact information. For new families, to gain access to the online directory, you must first join the PTA (step #1 above). With your paid membership you will be set up with a Directory Spot account. You will receive an email from Directory Spot, but if you miss it you can go directly to Directory Spot and create an account. Just be sure to use the same email that you used to register for the PTA. We are still offering the option to purchase a printed directory, available when you register for the PTA. You will need to do this step annually. The directory is used for Whittier families only, and can be used to contact classmates and parents. Link: https://www.directoryspot.net
