- Co-Presidents (2) – 1 year term
- Co-Vice Presidents (2) – 1 year term (then becomes Co-Pres)
- Secretary (1) – 2 year term
- Treasurer (1) – 2 year term

Executive Board Position Descriptions
Co-Presidents (Two Positions):
The President (and Vice-President) roles are both split into 2 (co) positions, allowing built-in support for our leadership. We have found that the co-model yields more willing volunteers, as there is shared responsibility in the role. This reduces the stress and time constraints of the position.
★ Communication Co-President ★
Takes a more visible/vocal role in PTA leadership, responsibilities include:
- Preside over meetings – executive board, general, etc.
- Coordinate the work of all officers and committees
- Communication with principal, IL/National PTA and PTA Members
★ Administrative Co-President
Has a more behind-the-scenes role in PTA leadership, responsibilities include:
- Review and sign legal documents, including contracts
- Serves as liaison/lead for district and regional efforts, such as:
- IL PTA DuPage East Meeting
- Downers Grove Area Council of PTAs
- District 58 AuthorFest
- District 58 Reading Games
- Support the work of the Communications Co-President
Co-Vice Presidents (Two Positions):
★ First Co-Vice President & Supporting Co-Vice President ★
The main role of the Co-Vice Presidents are to observe and learn in preparation for taking over the role of Co-Presidents for next year. Responsibilities include:
- Serve as supports to the Co-Presidents
- Become familiar with all PTA committees, programs and efforts
- Organize the kindergarten playdate for incoming students (August)
- Support other projects, as needed
★ Secretary (One Position)
- Record the minutes of all meetings of the association, executive board, etc.
- Publish the PTA Newsletter (Whittier Weekly); provide PTA content for Principal’s all-school newsletter (What’s-up at Whittier)
- Coordinate communication of volunteer/committee needs
- Monitor digital assets: Google Workspace, PTA’s info@ email, Memberhub and accurate/timely website content
★ Treasurer (One Position)
- Keep a full and accurate count of all expenditures
- Lead planning for annual budget
- Liaison with committees on budgetary needs
- Present a written financial statement at every meeting of the association
- Be responsible for the remittance of the state and national portion of the dues
- Submit books annually to the audit committee
- File income tax return
